FAMILY DIARY

Fall 2004. Three of us are involved in separate, simulataneous shows: Kaitlin in The Boyfriend, Karin in Big River, and Doug in Pillow Talk.

Summer 2004. Doug and Karin were both involved in the West Valley Light Opera production of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, as Kaitlin participated in the West Coast amateur staging of Seussical the Musical. Doug also took a week-long class in Photoshop.

Winter 2004. Karin moved home, transfered to San Jose State University, plans to change her major to Communicative Disorders, and got a job in the Recreation Department at Harker School. She and Doug both auditioned for and were cast in the West Valley Light Opera Association's upcoming production of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Kaitlin appeared in her first non-musical production, of The Dining Room by A.R. Gurney. Kaitlin scripted, Doug edited, and Karin narrated a humorous 2-minute Quicktime "trailer" movie to promote the show.

Fall 2003. Kaitlin appeared in the Presentation High School production of 42nd Street, while Doug was cast as Bob Cratchit in the school's play and musical review, Christmas on Broadway, where we met special guest actress Annette Bening. Since the family is so active in drama, Doug & Diane helped found Presentation's new "Theater & Arts Development Association" (TADA!). Doug came up with the name and logo.

Summertime 2003. Doug & Diane cruised Alaska (see movie) and visited relatives in Seattle. Karin spent much of the summer as a camp counselor at the Girl Scouts' Skylark Ranch. Kevin, who will be graduating this year from Santa Clara University, works at Electronics Boutique. Kaitlin, is a sophomore at Presentation High School, completed a week at iD Tech Camp, where she created an 8-minute digital movie. Diane is development coordinator for St. Martin of Tours School, and Doug manages Internal Communications for Philips Semiconductors in North America
