The Hughes family enjoys musical theater. Doug and his daughter appeared together in the West Valley Light Opera production of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.

Doug is an accomplished guitarist and directs a liturgical choral ensemble. His passion and talent for the creative arts spills over into both his professional and personal life, as seen in his videos, Christmas newsletters, volunteer outreach activity, and his music.
