How do you cram 223 hyperlinks into a 2x3 inch box? That was Doug's challenge when it turned out the home page was loading too slowly with all of the menu choices in the top navigation bar. The Shortcuts box he devised increased performance and became a standard component for all top-level departmental sites.
The "I Need To..." box is an idea Doug gleaned from a visit to Microsoft. It was a handy way to put the most popular links into a small space.
