BIOGRAPHY

In late 1967 I received an "Invitation" I simply couldn't refuse - I was drafted!!!

After basic training  I was assigned to the 1st Infantry Division's base camp about 80 miles NW of Saigon, South Vietnam. My tour lasted a year and thankfully I made it home to pursue the rest of my life.

Once separated from the US Army I began working in the air freight forwarding industry. Initially I worked as an independent “agent" representing several national air freight companies.  After several years I realized  starting my own air freight forwarding company was the next step to an even more successful business plan so I did just that. It took me another 20+ years of hard work and endless sales calls to attain the success that I was looking for and along with my "success" came   20 years of  endless STRESS.

By the late 90's,  at the suggestion of my physician I quietly sold my businesses to the delight of my wife.   It was a big decision, but it was the right decision, because even I could see the constant  "stress"  was finally taking it's toll on me.  I chose to move with my life and pursue a totally different  profession.

Changing careers did exactly what it was supposed to do, it immediately removed years of the never ending stress.

That was over 15 years ago and real estate has treated me/us extremely well..

Today I work 4-5-6 days on the North Oregon coast in real estate and I spend my other 1-2 days in Portland if I'm not too busy here on the coast. I love what I do and the stress that I do have comes with my job and is very manageable.

Living in Gearhart, which is 3 miles north of Seaside, Oregon suites me perfectly. Gearhart has one traffic light . Traffic issues don't exist here. Not having to contend with the Portland city noise and commotion is my dream. Chris and I also spend a lot of time with our two dogs Tatiana and Riley on the beach and  that time I consider priceless as well.

I have been married for 42 years. Gaddddds 42 years!  Where has all that time gone? It seems like just yesterday we were newly-weds and starting our family.

For the past sixteen years Chris and I have raised Guide Dog puppies in association with Guide Dogs For The Blind (GDB). However in late 2010 we decided it was time to retire from raising these puppies. We had raised 16 puppies and  were simply looking to simplify our lives  by slowing down a bit.

What does all this mean to you by choosing me as your seasoned Realtor? A lot!!!!!!  It means you will be fully represented by a hard-working tenured successful local real estate broker who is now a Principal Broker of his own company. I also feel I have a strong entrepreneurial spirit having started two successful companies. Today I work with both buyers and sellers of condominiums, permanent and secondary vacation homes and we also sell investment properties and work with 1031 exchanges.

I’ve been an independent SUCCESSFUL businessman all my life and I’m now a skilled SUCCESSFUL real estate broker managing my own real estate company.

.

I've accomplished a good many things over the past 42 years but keep in mind I’m committed to making your next real estate transaction a rewarding and enjoyable experience. Give me a call.

The highest compliment I can receive from my clients is their referrals of family, friends, and business associates - thank you  all for believing in me.

Satisfaction—one client and one property at a time, make’s total sense to me. dhb
