Seaside Oregon

Seaside has been Pacific Northwest’s favorite beach destination for a century and a half. Seaside is well known for its spectacular setting. It is situated between a massive forested headland on the south and a two river estuary on the north, with panoramic wooded hills to the east and a remarkable beach to the west. Indeed, Seaside boasts one of America’s most beautiful beaches. This beach is wide, it stretches for three miles and consists of pure white powder sand. Seaside has the cleanest ocean air, beautiful surfing waves, and breathtaking sunsets. Seaside’s beach is a perfect place to rediscover yourself, spend family time, engage in fun beach activities, or have romantic time with your loved one.

A meticulously well-kept paved promenade stretches for two miles facing the ocean. It offers opportunities for walking, jogging, riding bicycles, skateboards and roller skates in comfort on even pavement, all while enjoying the phenomenal ocean views. The promenade also offers easy beach access in several places, including a handicap ramp.  In the middle of the promenade is Seaside’s historic turnaround with a statue of Lewis and Clark, commemorating the end of their legendary journey here.

At present, Seaside is the most popular fun-oriented beach town in the Northwest. A well-landscaped colorful downtown is lined with specialty shops, candy stores, restaurants, stylized eateries and atmospheric bars. In addition, the downtown has an indoor carousel, arcades, mini-golf, bumper cars, mini-train rides, tilt-a-twirl, and more.  At the Seaside Aquarium which is located on the promenade you can have plenty of fun feeding the seals and exploring marine life of the area. Seaside has many rental outfitters who offer any kind of go-kart, surrey, beach bike, or paddle boat you can think of. You can peddle, paddle, or putt-putt around on its plentiful paths, promenades, sidewalks, byways and waterways.

Another outstanding thing about Seaside is its abundant parking. There is more parking in Seaside than in almost any other coastal town, and there are no parking meters. At the same time, Seaside is an outstanding walking town, where you can get almost anywhere on foot.

Seaside is a popular destination for active tourists who enjoy hiking, serious bicycling, and surfing. Seaside has a public golf course and there are two other golf courses in it immediate vicinity, so it is a popular destination for golf lovers.

Seaside hosts many exciting events throughout the year, including a large Beach Volleyball Tournament, the finish of the famous Hood to Coast Relay, monthly Art Walks, Wine Walks, an Annual Beach Run, Car and Bike shows, and many more. The Seaside Civic and Convention Center is home to many events all year round, such as the Miss Oregon Pageant which has taken place in the town since its beginning in 1947.

Seaside has a strong sense of community and is a great place to live. It has wonderful schools, a brand-new immaculate library, youth center, public swimming pool, skateboard park, and several playgrounds. The best thing about living in Seaside is the ability to enjoy the incredible things it has to offer at any time.
