-Developed, researched, co-wrote, edited Return on Design by Ani Phyo, published by Peachpit Press. The book details a seven-step, user-focused process for designing successful Web sites. I helped Ani develop the project, then co-wrote and edited the final version of the book.

I worked with Moon to conceive this book project and to develop the book proposal that Osborne/McGraw-Hill bought, including a detailed outline and sample chapters.

-Co-developed the business plan, assembled a pool of investment capital, formulated the editorial concept, and edited the pioneering monthly magazine targeting interactive multimedia developers, Morph's Outpost on the Digital Frontier, which achieved a monthly circulation of 30,000+.
-Supervised editorial, design, and production staff.
-Created the character "Morph" as a unique brand for the company and publication.
-Designed and supervised production and maintenance of Morph Online, a private dial-up computer bulletin board system (based on SoftArc's First Class software) for Morph's Outpost on the Digital Frontierreaders, with 1,000 registered users.
-Designed and supervised production and maintenance of the first online service targeting interactive multimedia professionals on Apple Computer's eWorld online information service.
-Conceived, developed, designed and published Daily Spectrum, a daily online news and analysis newsletter targeting interactive media professionals, delivered by email and published in many highly-trafficked World Wide Web sites (Time Warner's Pathfinder, Macromedia.com, iWORLD, and several others), and the Microsoft Network and Apple's eWorld. Daily Spectrum readership reached more than 10,000 per day; it is still published by David Duberman.
-Designed the conference program and marketing plan for ArtTeco and ArtTeco II, the interactive multimedia developer conferences and trade shows held in June 1994 and June 1995, respectively. Each event attracted some 1,000 interactive multimedia developers; major corporate sponsors included Microsoft, Apple, Intel, Creative Labs, Macromedia, Sun Microsystems, and many others.

-Conceived the original editorial plan and co-wrote the business plan for Blaster, the first national consumer magazine targeting "screenagers" interested in creating their own interactive multimedia and online experiences and integrating them into a contemporary lifestyle. (Historical note: Dave Pola, advertising sales manager for Morph's Outpost, coined the term "screenager" in the spring of 1994; Doug Rushkoff and other writers have since popularized the term.)
-The ground-breaking editorial concept combined how-to features on creating interactive media with coverage of the Internet, fashion, comics, books, video games, TV, and other youth culture phenomena.
-Recruited, hired, and managed an editorial, design and production staff of 25 people to support the launch of this 300,000 circulation magazine; supervised editing, design, and production of the first three issues of Blaster, published in November and December 1994 and January 1995.
-Supervised design of a WWW site supporting the launch of Blaster, plus design and production of an interactive multimedia presentation (Director movie) that was successfully distributed over the Internet as a binary file in a pioneering guerilla marketing effort.
