1    SAMUEL A LAWRENCE [# 4997] s/o? was born at ? abt 1798; died at Calais ME 18 Jul 1884 [Eastport Sentinel]; married (1) at Lubec ME 27 Jun 1824 [marriage int filed at Lubec ME 30 May 1824] Elizabeth Carter Avery [LubVR], d/o James "Esq" Avery and Rebecca Edes; married (2) at Lubec ME 28 Feb 1837 Waite Ann Olmstead [LubVR] d/o ? and ?;

EPRF says that he is the same person as Alpheus Lawrence, s/o John and Jennie (Rolfe) Lawrence but both people appear in census data. Samuel was at Lubec ME in 1850 and 1860 with his family whereas Alpheus was in Cherryfield ME living with his brother (Alpheus was called "idiotic" in 1850).

Samuel's birth date calculated from his age at death is 1788 but census data indicates 1798.

2    SAMUEL LAWRENCE [# 11099] s/o SAMUEL A LAWRENCE and ELIZABETH CARTER AVERY was born at Eastport ME abt 1827; died at ? 17 Jul 1897; married at Lubec ME 3 Dec 1850 Christiana Watts [LubVR] d/o ? and ?;

Samuel was at Calais ME in 1870 and died at Red Beach ME (a few miles north of Robbinston ME).

3    LEMUEL TRESCOTT LAWRENCE [# 11100] s/o SAMUEL A LAWRENCE and ELIZABETH CARTER AVERY was born at Lubec ME 14 Aug 1829 [LubVR]; died at ? 28 Feb 1904; married at ? 20 Nov 1853 Sarah A Lane d/o ? and ?;

Lubec ME birth records, page 39, gives his birth as 14 Aug 1830, mother as Wait Ann --- which can't be correct (Samuel & Waite Ann weren't married until 1837). Lubec ME birth records also gives his birth as 14 Aug 1829, mother as EC --- which is correct.

He died at Milltown.

4    WILLIAM LAWRENCE [# 11102] s/o SAMUEL A LAWRENCE and ELIZABETH CARTER AVERY was born at Lubec ME Sep 1833 [LubVR]; died at ? aft 1870; married at Lubec ME 15 Jun 1859 Mary A Fowler [LubVR] d/o ? and ?;

William's birth record gives his mother as Wait Ann --- which can't be correct (Samuel & Wait had not yet married).
