Moses Plummer was one of those listed as a grantee in the conditional grants of both Township No 5 (currently Harrington & Milbridge) and Township No 6 (currently Addison) on 27 Jan 1764 [Acts and Resolves, Public and Private, of the Massachusetts Bay, Vol 17 1761-1764, pg 474-479]. He moved from Scarborogh ME to Pleasant River (now Addison ME) about 1768. He was there in 1770 when he signed a petition. On 7 Sep 1773, Samuel Osburn "of a place called Pleasant River" sold a 120 acre lot on the west side of Pleasant river to William Bucknam of Falmouth ME. In the deed's description of the lot's boundaries, it refers to "...Moses Plumer's Sixty Acre Lot he now dwells on.." [LCD 10:35, also BHM pg 1039].

EPRF says that Moses died 6 Jan 1806.

7 surviving children of 9 named in Moses's will.

Moses Plummer's will [WCPR 3:127] is dated 20 Mar 1802. It was witnessed by Daniel Look, Isaiah Nash and William Tupper. It bequeathed his estate as follows:

"... I give to my beloved wife in case she should outlive me, the one half of all the Estate real & personal ... I give to my son Jeremiah Plumer the remaining one half ... he paying to my children here after named in one year after my decease as follows viz To my son Moses Plumer ten Dollars, to my Son Jesse Plumer ten Dollars, to my Daughter Polly Wilson, thirty Dollars, to my Daughter Lucy Drisco two Dollars, to my Daughter Hannah Plumer six Dollars, to my Daughter Miriam Coffin Plumer six Dollars and lastly ... ordain my son Jeremiah Plumer sole Executor of this my last will ...".

Moses's marriage to Hannah Weston was published in the 10 Feb 1804 issue of the Eastern Argus newspaper.

EPRF says that Jesse died 17 Oct 1818.

Jesse Plummer's [WCPR 4:492] was dated 9 Oct 1816. It bequeathed his estate as follows:

"... I give & bequeath unto my beloved wife Abigail Plumer all my real and personal estate ... or what may be left after paying all my just debts and funeral charges, and paying to each of my said Children or to their guardian in two years after my decease Ten Dollars each - that is namely Charlotte, Hannah, Meriam, Wilson, Otis, Fanny & Jesse ... if my said wife should remain my widow the above is meant fully to convey to her disposal all the above mentioned property - in case she should marry again, then she to have the improvement of one half of all my real estate during her life. And also one half of all my personal estate ... and in case my said wife should marry after she has paid the aforementioned Legacies to my said Children, the said Ten Dollars each to be paid back by my said Children or their guardian. And my said Children to have divided equally among them all my said Real & personal estate which may be left after the above requisition being complied with ... And lastly I ... appoint my beloved wife Abigail Plumer and Doctor Joseph Otis Smith my Joint Executors..." The will was witnessed by Benjamin Lord, Tho Ruggles and Christ Curtis.

The inventory of Jesse Plummer's estate on 18 Mar 1819 mentioned a 50 acre homestead in Addison, 4 acres dyke marsh, 8 acres salt marsh at Harrington, 2 1/2 acres salt marsh in Harrington and a personal estate of sheep, oxen cows and various farm and household items [WCPR 4:495].

Jeremiah's son, Bryce, chose a guardian 2 Jun 1819.

Jermiah was called a mariner in probate records pertaining to his estate.

Moses died at San Francisco CA. He was a steward on the ship Belgrade which sailed to CA 28 Nov 1849 with a party of "49ers". When ship arrived he was found dead in his bunk.

Gowen's 1st wife was from Portland ME [EPRF]. A correspondent, Charlotte Plummer Townsend, says that she was Mrs Dunlap.

Gowen had one child from his 1st marriage who drowned in a well.

He moved to Galveston TX after 1820 where he died. He must have returned to Harrington for a short while around 1867 with at least several of his children as they were married at or near Harrington.

I had him as s/o Otis Plummer and Betsey Davis. A correspondent, Charlotte Plummer Townsend, stated that he was a s/o Gowen Wilson Plummer.

William was probably born at Texas but returned to Harrington (with his parents?) about 1867 and stayed until after 1880.

He returned to Harrington (with his parents?) by 1867 where he married. He moved back to Texas after 1880 and died at Sabine TX.
