Featuring reviews, author biographies, and special features, Romance Reviews is designed as a guide to romantic reading. While primarily covering romance novels, it also delves into other types of fiction, but all works rated include some romance. Reviews of romance novels are designed to help you make a choice that is right for you. A new edition will appear the first of each month.

Reviews for Edition 108

There's great variety this month - and a rare X rating. (Remember X means not recommended at all.) There's one extreme to another. There's older books and brand new ones. I like to think there's something for everyone.

FOR THOSE OF YOU who like dark and intense mysteries you can always count on Iris Johansen. This one has some paranormal included in the plot.

IF HISTORICAL ROMANCE, mixing fact with fiction, is your thing, there's three special ones - by Susan Holloway Scott, Maggie Osborne, and the long-anticipated Diana Gabaldon book.

BUT IF PARANORMAL is what you like, there's two of these for you (besides the above mentioned Johansen one) - by Kate Perry, and Caridad Pineiro.

AND LAST, but not least, are four contemporary stories - by Lori Wilde, Anita Shreve, Lisa Dale, and T. Dawn Richard.

Have fun!

This month's reviews:

1.) It Happened One Night, by Lisa Dale, 2009 - 3.
Good friends become more. A woman finds herself.

2.) Echo in the Bone, by Diana Gabaldon, 2009 - 4. The very long wait for this book  was well worth the wait. This time, the book is equally divided between four people and their stories and there is more time/travel. Magnificent.

3.) Dark Summer, by Iris Johansen, 2008 - 3. Suspenseful, dark and intense with some paranormal as some "super dogs," and one person with a high level of sensitivity, add to the story.

4.) The Queen's Command, by Maggie Osborne, 1987/2009 - 4. Intrigue, mystery and danger in the court of Queen Elizabeth.

5.) Chosen by Desire, by Kate Perry, 2009 - 4. Guardian tries to protect and steal from her at the same time.

6.) Sins of the Flesh, by Caridad Pineiro, 2009 - 4. Her genes have been tampered with, giving her more trouble and problems than good things and he is sent to destroy her.

7.) Digging Up Otis, by T. Dawn Richard, 2007 - 2. Senior Citizens tackle a murder mystery, giving us some good-hearted humor along the way.

8.) The French Mistress, by Susan Holloway Scott, 2009 - 4. Charles II had many mistresses and this is about the one least liked by everyone, except him.

9.) The Last Time They Met, by Anita Shreve, 2001 - X.  Some may call this story artistic. I call it a waste of time to read. The ending was the clincher.

10.) The Sweethearts' Knitting Club, by Lori Wilde, 2009 - 3. Bad boy returns to this small town to reclaim former girlfriend - but she's now engaged and the wedding is soon.

Coming next month - Susan Kearney, Jennifer Crusie, Shirlee Busbee, Pamela Clare, Catherine Anderson, Kat Martin, Nora Roberts - and more!
