Delmarva Peninsula Golf Association

It is the Belief of the Delmarva Peninsula Golf Association, “that golf activities can be promoted through organized effort on the Delmarva Peninsula, and that these activities will foster a spirit of fellowship and goodwill, as well as mutual understanding among the citizens of the communities of the Delmarva Peninsula.”

The DPGA now has 26 member clubs which encompass the Delmarva Peninsula from Smyrna, Delaware in the north to Cape Charles, Virginia in the south; from Kent Island, Maryland in the west to Ocean City, Maryland in the East.

Benefits and responsibilities of belonging to the DPGA

• Access to the DPGA Scholarship Fund
• Coordination of golf activities so that clubs do not compete against each other for golf tournament dates
• Three courtesy cards for club officials which allows them to play other member clubs without green fees
• Eligibility to play in DPGA sponsored events such as the DPGA Amateur, the Seniors Championship, the Pro-junior and the Juniors Championship
• Directories which include names, addresses and phone numbers of key people at each club
• The opportunity to enter Junior players in the summer junior golf schedule
• The opportunity to sponsor a DPGA event with financial aid and DPGA guidance
• Club members being able to play DPGA courses

Along with the benefits listed above, the responsibilities of member clubs includes:

• Sending representative(s) to the Annual Meeting in November
• Planning some club activities to contribute to the Scholarship Program
• Taking turns serving as officers of the Association
• Honoring courtesy cards of members of other clubs
• Participating in some DPGA golf events
