Yellow Jacket Target Area, Utah
In 1945, Dugway Proving Grounds (DPG) conducted tests using persistent and non-persistent gases and flame-type munitions in the Yellow Jacket Target Area. The 17 acre site, which consists of ten mine shafts and tunnels in one canyon, is located in Tooele County, Utah, approximately 3.5 miles south of the DPG border and 4.5 miles east of Wendover Bombing and Gunnery Range. Currently, the area is open to the public and occasionally used for recreational purposes.
