She met my father, George Woods when he was a cadet at Staunton Military School. My grandmother on my mothers side was Margarett Bell Showalter of Staunton via Harrisonburg. Your Comments: I have been gatherinbg information on my ggggrandfather Willam Sellers/ars born about 1785 in England. His wife Elizabeth(last name not known) was born about 1796. They had a daughter Harriet b. abt 1830/31. I have no furher information but I do have a record of the other 6 members of the family. I have a William b.1820 d.1904 m.Elizabeth Coons(b.Dundas county, Ontario Prov. My g.grandfather Benjamin was b.1823. William,Sr. came to Dundas co.,Canada around the 1830's. I would appreciate knowing if we may be talking about the same family. Look forward to your reply.

I've tried to Email you but have had no sucess, so I was so pleased to see you on Ancestry.com. I led you astray, my mother was first married to Fred Lawrence, who is my father, and later she married George Ingledew.
Also, I found a book at the Genealogical Society in Portland OR. named Cemetary Inscriptions of Pawlet VT, by Margaret R. Jenks. In it I found Ruhamah's head stone states: "wife of Erastus, daughter of Roswell and Sarah Bennet, d. Oct. 20, 1820 in 24th year". So you see, she died at the birth of her daughter, Ruhamah. Nehemiah can not be her son. There is also a headstone for Sarah Bennet: "Bennet, Sarah, wife of Roswell, d. May 7, 1837 in 83rd year". These were both found on Page 9 of that booklet. Roswell, was not listed with a headstone. He is listed in the Rev. War records as having served in Ira Allen's Regt of VT Mil.. I'm sure that his wife's maiden name was Fitch, but do you have proof. I don't.
