November 3, 1999
Earlier this year, David Helfgott had a plaster cast made of his
hands (as has been the tradition with many classical pianists). Starting
now, the general public will have a
chance to purchase this original hand mould! It is being auctioned
off for charity through an internet auction site. The auction will
be open for bidding starting on November 8th and will last through November
28th. All money raised from this will benefit some hospitals in Australia--the
Mater Hospitals. During November, they will be auctioning off about
30 hand moulds from various celebrities. If you'd like--you can
read more about this auction, or you can learn
more about the Mater Hospital
itself.
