December 4, 1999
There is some
good news and some bad news here. Unfortunately, the Mater Hospital's
Star
Hands Internet Auction didn't go quite as well as they had hoped.
They auctioned off well over 20 different hand moulds from various celebrities
and only a few of them sold. But, this is very fortunate for the
rest of us, because David Helfgott is one of the celebrities whose hand
mould wasn't sold. Originally they were asking for a minimum bid
of $2,000. They will now start with a minimum bid of only $200 and
are extending the auction through December 17, 1999. To place a bid,
just send an e-mail with your bid to: mwilson@mater.org.au
Once you place a bid, they will stay in touch with you to let you know
if they have received a higher bid. Good luck!
