COURSE OBJECTIVES:
This course is a continuation of financial accounting and introduction to managerial accounting. Topics include statement of cash flow, statement analysis, accounting for a manufacturing concern, cost-volume-profit relationships and budgeting.

You are expected to have studied the assigned chapter.
You are expected to have done your homework and spent some time thinking about your solution.
You are expected to bring your textbook, working papers and a calculator to every class meeting.
Homework will be collected on dates assigned. NO homework will be accepted late!
NO make ups will be given for in class work!
Exams CANNOT be made up
From time to time, I MAY apply at my discretion a factor (The
"Dr. J" Factor) to a particular exam. This factor is based
on my arbitrary and subjective opinion of the difficulty of that particular
exam and is NOT negotiable.
Study Guide assignments are due EXAM DAY.
Practice Set (start after Ch# 18).
Can be turn in anytime up to #13 week.
This is a group assignment, turn in only one set per group.

Writing Exercise:
Report on two(2)current articles in business publications, that
relate to this class .
500 words TYPED of review and view of the article.
Include a copy of the article
Proper MLA Citation
Can be turned in anytime up to #7 week and #14 week.
Use of writing fellows is MANDATORY!
Additional credit:
Participation in the BlackBoard Site.
Expect a substantial amount of work outside the classroom for this semester.
If for some reason I am not in class, you are to turn in the homework due for that class period to the Division of Business & Public Service offices (Center Campus A-134,South Campus C-335)
If Utica Community Schools close because of snow, I will not be conducting class. Homework due for that class & the following class will be due the following class period.
Assignments will be graded as to CORRECTNESS, COMPLETENESS, and TIMELINESS. Quality of work turned in must be in a professional and business-like manner.
Plagiarism and cheating WILL NOT be tolerated. Any student found guilty of either will AUTOMATICALLY receive a failing grade!
An "I" grade is given only when a small portion of the course work must be completed. Student must have attended the first fifteen weeks of the semester. If the work is not completed by the end of the following semester, class grade will be computed with the incomplete course work as 0%. This MUST be discussed with the professor. Students who OFFICIALLY withdraw during the first 3/4 of the semester (#12 week) shall receive a "W" grade. Students may NOT officially withdraw during the last 1/4 of the semester, but will be given their earned grade.
