NOTES:

You have the RIGHT to ask anyone in class for help.

You have the DUTY to assist anyone who asks for help.

Homework will be collected on dates assigned.

NO homework will be accepted late!

You are expected to have studied the assigned chapter.

You are expected to have done your homework and spent some
Time thinking about your solution.

Participation:
Students are expected to attend the virtual classroom (VC) by dialing in at least 5 out of 7 days of each week. The standard is that an average participant should "attend" class 5 of 7 days per week. This is measured by recording the date of each entry you make to the system, whether it be a response to one of the assignments, a comment on the work of another, or a question to the group or to the teacher. An absence does not excuse the student from the responsibility of participation, assigned work, and/or testing.

Responses to chapter questions:
Answer all Chapter questions. The responses should be SENT to the Digital Drop Box. There is no minimum length required for the lecture question responses. However, I do expect that your responses will demonstrate an understanding of the text and lecture material presented. Answers should clearly identify which question is being addressed

Homework will be SENT to the Digital Drop Box and collected on dates assigned. Location of exercises and problems Excel templates is on the text Web page

Internet Activity:
Using Text web site select one activity from each unit as identified. Access the Internet sites and respond to the question. The responses should be SENT to the Digital Drop Box. Please include in your submission of the response the unit and question number.

Journal Entries:
You will prepare a journal throughout this course. Upload the week's journal entry to the Discussion Board by the due date. Journal entries for each week should relate to how the concepts of the course relate to a past or present workplace you have experienced. Comment on your experience with the topics covered during each week. You must demonstrate that you have thought through the issues and can propose solutions, or have developed insights, in keeping with the discussions in the VC.

Seminar Participation:
At the end of each lecturette, questions are listed at the end of each chapter or you to answer and upload to this meeting no later than midnight EST on day Due. For the remainder of the seminar, each of you are expected to contribute a minimum of two (2) meaningful responses to the general discussion per day on at least five (5) out of the seven (7) days of each seminar. Your responses can be in the form of comments ("nice job" does not count as meaningful); adding further questions for discussion, or references to materials relating to the current seminar topics. Your responses may also be in regard to journal entries other members of the class have uploaded to each seminar or to articles you have read, or experiences you wish to share that pertain to the current week's topic. THIS LAST ITEM IS VERY IMPORTANT AS YOUR EXPERIENCES ARE UNIQUE. BY SHARING THEM WITH OTHER MEMBERS OF THE CLASS WE ALL GAIN FROM EXPERIENCES THAT WE MIGHT NEVER HAVE LEARNED.

Case Analysis:
Business First Cases are located at the end of each chapter. One will be assigned to your Group. Please send completed case analyses to the Homework Folder after a complete discussion in your group page by the due date indicated. CASE ANALYSIS FOR THIS COURSE IS ACCOMPLISHED BY ANSWERING ALL THE QUESTIONS WHICH FOLLOW THE CASE. Please begin your analysis by designating which chapter and case you are analyzing. Then, label each question as to its number.

WWW Research Exercise:
Report on two current pertinent accounting articles found in the in the text web site under In the News. 750 words (Approx.) of compare and contrast format of the article. Report must be submitted to the Digital Drop Box by the due date.Useproper MLA citations

Expect a substantial amount of work for this class this semester.

Assignments will be graded as to CORRECTNESS, COMPLETENESS, and TIMELINESS. Quality of work turned in must be in a professional and business-like manner.

Plagiarism and cheating WILL NOT be tolerated. Any student Found guilty of either will AUTOMATICALLY receive a failing grade!

An "I" grade is given only when a small portion of the course work is required to be completed. Student must have attended the first seven weeks of the semester. If the work is not completed by the end of the following semester, class grade will be computed with the incomplete course work as 0%. This MUST be discussed with the professor.

Students who OFFICIALLY withdraw during the first 3/4 of the semester shall receive a "W" grade. Students may NOT officially withdraw during the last 1/4 of the semester, but will be given their earned grade.
