May ~ 1998 Pilgrimage

Each time I journey to the Pagoda, I like to take someone special with me to share in the beauty and serenity of this wonderful place. This time I had the pleasure of taking special friends, Marc and Elizabeth, with me.

Marc and Elizabeth

Marc and Drolma

The pond was teeming with Spring life and we spent quite a bit of time there. Marc and Elizabeth lay quietly on the rocks watching all the fish swim. We were quite startled at one point when a leviathan rose from the depths, took a few bites of the bread floating on the water, and then disappeared from view ! I had never seen the catfish before and wasn't fast enough with my camera to get a good picture of him.

A few of the many goldfish living in the pond.

The pond was also filled with frogs trying to escape the heat by staying submerged in the water, with only their eyes showing. We could hear the bullfrogs, but we never did get them to show themselves, I guess they were too camera-shy. The little black dots you see are polywogs!

The construction on the new temple is slow and steady. The sides have been poured and one of the beautiful windows has taken shape.

The information sign in front of the temple.
