Terre Blanche Report
January 2007
We bring greetings from pleasantly warm (not hot!) Terre Blanche (TB). After a
6-month absence what we saw there last week, as Delamy likes to say, 'blew us
away'. (Linda cried when she saw it). It is more spectacular than we could have
imagined. Yes the roads are as bad as ever, and yes you will so glad to finally
arrive, and yes, the donkeys and dogs continue to serenade us at night (this is
truly 'I-Pod territory' for noise control). But for those who have worked at TB
in the past 10 years, we are now at a new level that can not be described, only
experienced.
The building may not be completely finished, but it will be available for use;
for clinics, eating, sleeping, showers, devotions, meetings- everything!
The Clinic inauguration on February 25 will be a major, major event. Dignitaries
will come from afar-even Port-au-Prince, we are told. And in true Haitian style,
it will not be a short service! (Men on the February team, for the first time
ever, coat jackets are 'suggested'-sorry; ladies, don't worry-you're always
beautiful).
A truly unforgettable experience awaits us. And most of all, the people of TB
and Haiti anticipate our arrival. What a privilege has been placed before us,
truly by the grace of God. We want to thank all of you for your part in this.
May God be praised! ( Beni soit L'Eternel!)
