Important Reminders regarding Midterm Exams!
Finance 325:
 | Midterm Exam Part I (Required), Tuesday, March 7: Bring some
pencils! You need to mark your answers on your scantron sheet.
You are allowed to bring a 3X5 index card (formulas), use Excel and of
course calculators. This test consists of 25 multiple choice
questions. Approximately 1/3 of them are conceptual and the rest are calculations
(7 problem sets; each with 2 to 4 multiple choice questions). |
 | Midterm Exam Part II (Optional), Thursday, March 9: This is a
written test. If you are satisfied with what you do on Part I, you can
choose not to take this part. Part I will be 100% of your midterm
grade. If you choose not to take Part II, you do NOT need to come to
class. If you don't think you do too well on Part I or you believe you
can do better, then by taking also Part II, you have a good chance to
improve your midterm grade, as each part will be 50% of your midterm
grade. If you miss Part I and only take part II, your grade will be at
most 50%, since Part I is required. Of course, there is always a
possibility (or risk) that you may do worse on Part II, but, hey, one
important lesson in this course is that Risk and Return always go hand in
hand. Most likely, though, you are going to do better on part II
because you have two more days to prepare for it. |
 | You can email me on Wednesday if you want to know what you get on Part
I. Most likely, although no guarantee, I will receive Part I results
in the afternoon on Wednesday. |
 | Solutions to all previous assignments are available on-line. |
 | Email me if you have any questions. I will reply to your email as
quickly as I can. |
Finance 426:
 | Midterm Exam, Tuesday, March 7: Bring some pencils! You need
to mark your answers on your scantron sheet. You are allowed to bring
a 3X5 index card (formulas), use Excel and of course calculators. You
can also bring your "International Parity Conditions" handout, as
long as it is CLEAN (meaning: there isn't any writing on the sheet except
for some notations on equation variables). This test consists of 30
multiple choice questions. Approximately 50% of them are conceptual
and the rest are calculations. |
 | Class on Thursday, March 9: Your team research paper topic is due by
the end of the class. You need to turn in a page or two outlining what
you plan to do and how you plan to it. This class is specifically
reserved for you and all your teammates to have a discussion in detail
regarding your research paper topic. In general, you are given the
liberty to choose a topic you are most interested in, as long as it is
related to this course in some ways. I will give you feedbacks
regarding your topic after spring recess. |
 | Solutions to the first assignment are available on-line. |
 | Email me if you have any questions. I will reply to your email as
quickly as I can. |
