Obituary of

SHARP, Dick Taylor

Funeral services were held at Dawson and Wikoff Funeral Home in Decatur at 1:30 pm Saturday for Dick Taylor Sharp of Decatur. Burial was in Fairlawn Cemetery.

Mr. Sharp, a retired farmer has lived in Decatur for 15 years, where he had moved from Shelbyville. He died at 4:45 pm Wednesday in Decatur Macon County Hospital. Mr. Sharp, a son of John R. and Frankie Taylor Sharp, was born Oct. 18, 1891 in Moultrie Co. He leaves his wife, the former Jennie Ringo, 3 sons, Louis Dee, of Wheatland, ND, Arthur of Black Springs, NV and Floyd of Decatur, 6 daughters, Mrs. George (Rayma) Shride of Blue Mound, Mrs. Glen (Mary) Hutton of Moweaqua, LaDena Sharp of Decatur, Mrs. James (June) Tate of Decatur, Mrs. Grover (Leone) Etherton of Mount Auburn, and Mrs. Max (Anna) Cowgill of Decatur, 39 grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Fred (Nellie) Sampson of Sullivan and a brother, Charles of Bruce.

Jennie Sharp dies, leaves 110 survivors

      Mrs. Dick (Jennie R. Ringo) Sharp, 87, of 1007 N. Woodlawn Ave. died 6:05 p.m. Friday (April 9, 1982) in Monroe House.      Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, with visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. Mrs. Sharp was born in Moultrie County, daughter of S. K. and Nancy Ringo. She married Dick Taylor Sharp in 1913. He died in 1963. Surviving are her sons, Floyd of Decatur; Arthur D. of Reno, Nev.; daughters, LaDena Sharp; Mrs. Max (Anna) Cowgill; Mrs. James (June) Tate and Mrs. George (Rayma) Shride of Blue Mound; Mrs. Glen (Mary) Hutton of Moweaqua; 39 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren. Three brothers and two grandchildren preceded her in death.
