A few remembrances by Howard's nephew Dallas:  Did you hear of him driving himself to the hospital while having heart attacks?

Well, on one such instance, the emergency room was a slight bit callus and did not think he really was having a heart attack.  He had to insist that it was really true- finally got to see an intern who said well "have the people who brought you here to take you over to another hospital" Well, Howard said, 'I drove myself and I don’t think I have the strength left to drive myself to the other hospital!'  Ok, said intern, 'I have to go that way, so I'll drive you myself!' (Ambulance rides cost a lot with no insurance.)

Another tale: At age 19 or 20, Howard suffered through spinalminginus & rheumatic fever. One time He had been pronounced dead and was covered with a sheet in the hospital - nurse cleaning up notice a finger twitch -- guessed they wouldn't take him down to the morgue just yet! So he always said he was on his second life.

Here is what he write to a PowerChute club: April 19, 2002 11:01pm Howard Winings Rogers AR (H_winings@hotmail.com)

"I was born in 1926 and I fly my old powerchute Every chance I get and promote it all the time. It is a great hobby for an old man or woman that wants to stay young."
