Beldan people are carbon based life forms. They are bipeds; having 2 arms and legs as earthlings do. For some unknown reason the male of the species ages faster than the female. Instead of hands and feet their extremities are in the form of mittens. Facial features - eyes: 2, in same location on face as humans; crescent shaped downwards; eye coloring reversed - whites on inside, coloring on outside of eye. Ears: no ears as we know them. What we call ears they use for breathing; left side is for intake, right side is exhaust; is just a tiny hole on either side of the head. Nose: since they breathe on the side of their heads, where the nose would be on humans the Beldan has nothing. Mouth: similar to that on humans. They communicate thru means of telepathy with each other.
Beldan form of government - on both federal and regional level is run by a tribunal; with the regional level reporting to the federal level. Citizens have final approval on laws passed; so far this system has worked in that they have eliminated all wars and crime. They have not had need for a military in several centuries. They still have a constable on duty in each region to control the occasional rowdy person. The rowdiness occurs only after someone has sniffed too much nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas on earth.
All diseases, wars, weapons, etc have been eliminated.
Transportation - every home, office, store, business, etc. has a transporter type device; what this does is scramble the object's molecules in the sending transporter and puts them back together in the destination transporter. Unless the transporter is designed to hold more, each unit is only capable of sending 4 objects at a time. If more than 4 objects are sent their molecules could be rearranged into a completely different form at destination point. To use transporter, once all objects have been entered, simply state the exact destination point. If destination point is not exact it is possible to wind up being put together inside a rock or wall. Transporters are also used to travel between the planets and moons in the Beldan system that sustain life.
Energy - mostly solar powered, taking advantage of having two suns. But it can play havoc with devices using solar power on cloudy days. It is advisable not to use transporters on days when the weather is bad. Back up power supplied by static electricity; which is the reason why most inhabitants of the Beldan system have either very little or no hair on their heads.
