More than three years before the introduction of Superboy, Fawcett Comics had its own blue-clad, red-caped teenager performing super-feats of his own in one of the most successful series--and the most successful spinoff--of comics' Golden Age. Captain Marvel Jr. is actually Freddy Freeman, a crippled newsboy gifted by the old wizard Shazam with the same powers as Captain Marvel himself. The three-part origin guest-stars Captain Marvel and Bulletman as all three heroes battle the diabolical menace of Captain Nazi! Mac Raboy's art on this series is widely regarded as some of the most beautiful ever seen in comic books, and has influenced generations of artists. Originally appearing in 1941 and 1942, very few of these stories have ever been seen again until now.
