Playful single seeking his mate!

Hello!  I created this web page to tap the power of the Internet to meet my soul mate. So if you are not female, single and looking, you may not be entertained here!  Who knows, through the power of search engines I will meet Ms. Right wherever she is!

A brief introduction, I am a 45 year old college-educated professional living and working in the vicinity of Portland, Oregon.  I have only one child, a 16 year old son who is a great kid and student.  Physically, besides what you can see in the pictures, I am 5'7", average build and in excellent health :)  

I consider myself international, having born outside the US, lived and traveled to many places around the world.  My latest obsession is a town called Bruges in Belgium, which I visited this year.  The Caribbean is my all time favorite.  Oregon is no doubt my home though.  For a few years I did move away to Arizona, and Washington DC then found my way back to Oregon 17 years ago and stay put ever since. If you have ever been to Oregon, you would understand my enthusiasm for the state whose incredible natural beauty is so accessible.  From my house, I can reach the coast, mountain or forest all within 2 hour drive.

Family and nature are the things that I am most passionate about. Goal-oriented, young-looking and young at heart, I value human connections and the simple things in life. I am fortunate enough to have a rewarding career, both financially and intellectually.  Even though work is an important aspect of my life, I don't allow it to dominate since life should be more than just work!  I eat healthy, keep fit, don't smoke and barely drink.  For fun, I don't have one particular hobby, just enjoy a variety of activities like volleyball, hiking, sailing, scuba diving and cooking.  Around the house I am "Mr. Tinker"; love to fix what is broken or....not, and am a very good cook.

 I am not shy; I enjoy meeting people and can be very sociable in a group, however, I much prefer one-on-one interaction, either through a spirited but friendly discussions, about-nothing talk or just in silent company of friend.  Learning and laughing are my favorite things, especially laughing; it keeps me from taking life and myself too seriously. As far as religion, I don't follow any, but I am very spiritual; trusting that there is a grand love and wonder that encompasses us all.  In the past several years I have had opportunity to do much personal growth, which I am very grateful for.

Personality wise, I would be the planning and analyzing yet adventurous type, if that makes any sense :)  I am cautious but will sometimes push the limits to challenge myself.  Some of the adjectives that my friends would use to describe me are smart, quick-witted, loyal, reliable, funny and intense.  As a mate, I value chemistry, emotional honesty and clear communication.  In relationship I neither seek nor avoid conflicts and believe in compromising and seeking win-win solutions.  I am romantic and attentive most of the times, and very playful.  Playfulness can be very sensual and sexy, don't you think?  Oh, and yes, I love to dance!

I am always capable of amusing myself so it doesn't take much to make me happy.  I just wish to share the wonderful things in life with my mate, to live a life that excites the senses and is satisfying to the soul.

Who am I looking for?

Open to a committed long-term relationship, she is the girl next door, genuine, fit, affectionate, caring and feminine, Caucasian or Asian. She is tolerant, inquisitive, communicative, down-to-earth and has a sense of humor.  It would be nice if she enjoys the outdoors (not adamant about squashing every insect that crosses her way :-), has been overseas and is more comfortable in sweatshirt and jean than business suit.  

Those are some of the characteristics that I can think of to describe my mate, but it would be hard to completely describe her because I haven't met her yet.  To me, sharing common values is more important than sharing common interests.
