"John Royse. Born About 1725 in New York State. Died 1808 in Pennsylvania. Occupation Senior.Had a brother Daniel and half-brother Aaron. Was child of Moses Royse by his first wife. The 1992 IGI Files mention a Daniel, Frederick and Jacob Larue Royse in John Sr,'s will probated 15 Sept. 1803 in Hampshire CO, W. VA. Baptism record taken from "Records of the First Church in Mansfield, Baptisms 1710-1849."He married Hannah Unknown.Possibly Hannah Bellamy. IGI files for CT list a daughter, Hannah, born to a John Royse (1725) and Hannah Bellamy. The notation 1725 after John's names is NOT mine, but as it appears in the IGI files. Birth took place in the New Haven/Wallingford area. 6/18/1753.They had the following children:

1011. Hannah Bellamy ? was born about 1730. She died about 1788. Children were:

child i. Snyder Royse Royce. According to Shirley Craig's History of Washington Co, IN. both Frederick Royse and his brother, Snyder Royse, served in the Bedford Co PA Militia during the Revolutionary War.

child iii. John Royce was born in 1745. He died in 1778.
child iv. Hannah Royce was born in 1747. She died in 1835.
child v. Frederick Royce was born in 1750 in Pennsylvania. He died in 1825 in Fredericksburg, Indiana. Frederick Royse. Born 1750 in PA. Died 1825 in Fredericksburg, Indiana.Frederick Royse may have been born in Virginia or what is now West Virginia. He married Sarah DeWitt, daughter of Peter and Jane DeWitt and they had ten children, one of whom was Gabriel Royse. Was in Bedford County PA Rangers during the Revolutionary War. He was enrolled as Frederick "Rice." Between 1783 -1799 births of his children are recorded in the Bardstown KY LEDGER. Moved to Clark's Grant, Indiana, about 1799, after holding lands in Turkeyfoot TWP Bedford County PA, West VA (then VA) and in Kentucky. Bought 1500 acres in 1812 which were sold in 1815. Fred and Sarah's graves were on original farmstead but ploughed over by a Gabriel T. Royse (not their son but a later Gabriel) and lost.May also have served in the Hampshire Co. Va. militia.Mentioned in his father's will with bros(?) Daniel and Jacob LaRue Royse in Hampshire CO, W.VA in 1850.Listed in the 1820 IN Census (Page 221) as having 1 male 19-25, 1 male 45 and over, and one female 45 and over. Listed 2 persons engaged in agriculture.He married Sarah Dewitt.Other than that she was a daughter of Peter and Jane DeWitt and that she and Frederick Royse had 10 children, nothing further known. She and Frederick Royse came to Kentucky, vicinity of Bardstown before 1785. Came to Indiana Terr. in 1799.They had the following children:
