Throughout
the internet my nickname is DustSpeck, while my chat room, msn,
myspace, etc. profiles will say that my name is Lila P. SaLint
(Little Piece of Lint). *_~
My real name is ...
Personally,
I like them all!
I
arrived on the internet by accident 15 years ago, literally.
I was in a bad car crash while driving to work one morning.
I hit a patch of black ice on a winding country road. I was
thrown from the car via the passenger side window. Luckily,
I only had a concussion, a few herniated spine discs, and a
broken right hand. Silly me, I punched a tree during my flight.
*L* I was only bed ridden for a few weeks, but that was enough
for my husband. In an attempt to tempt me from my rest he brought
home a used commodore computer and hooked us up to the web.
I must include in here that we (my four children, husband and
I) lived in a small one level home in a rural area of New Jersey.
So my bedroom was near the living room where this new activity,
with the oooos and ahhhs it created, peaked my interest enough
for me to check it out. I have been addicted ever since *L*
The
internet is so facinating to me. I love to surf topics of interest,
like history, literature, religion, humor, and entertainment.
My number one favorite site is a virtual reality community chat
world called Cybertown.
You can read more about this place by clicking here.
Once
it became apparent that I would not be able to rejoin the work
force due to my injuries, I started an internet advertising
agency. My first clients were professional crafters who sold
at craft shows and wanted to start promoting their wares online.
I became adapt at creating graphics, designing websites, building
shopping carts, and helping my clients sell on eBay. Later on
I worked with other businesses, like a horse stable, breeder
of alpacas, antiques store, doctors office, etc. But I like
working with the creative people of the arts and crafts world
the most. I also created a few of my own business websites that
featured joke pages, ecards, and free graphics. If I were to
show you a few of my email joke pages that people forward to
their friends online... I am sure that you have seen at least
one of them.
I
am working on several new websites, one of which will be a virtual
community using the blaxxun plugin. This is more of a hobby,
and even if I am the only person to visit it I will still be
proud of my world. I have become very interested in VRML (Virtual
Reality Modelling Language - an ISO standard format for representing
3 dimensional objects and scenes, widely used on the Internet
to display 3D within the web browser.) I have created a few
dozen objects for Cybertown, they can be found here.
