When was Patrick Moran born?
A Canadian document indicates a "Pat Moran" immigrated at age 23 via the ship Warrior in 1842. If that's him he was born about 1819
Four other sources indicate 4 other birth years.
The 1860 census indicates he was born in 1820
The 1870 census indicates he was born in 1810
The 1880 census indicates he was born in 1800
His obituary states he was about 80 in 1888 which would mean he was born about 1808.
According to a genealogy librarian, any census birth year listed on the decade probably is an estimate. Many times the data provided the census is from a child who happens to be home when the census was taken and isn't sure of the exact year of birth.

Did he and his family immigrate into the US at Milwaukee? It would be logical for immigrants in Canada to come to Wisconsin by boat via the lakes. This was the easiest route from Canada at that time.

What happened to Margaret Moran after the 1860 census?
