Russian T-72 tank

I like using my Tiger, but building these things is at least half the fun. I wanted to build another tank. Here are the goals I wanted to achieve for my next build:

1. It had to be based on a cool looking tank !
2. It had to have 40/4 ratings for R/C Tank Combat.
3. I wanted something smaller than the Tiger, especially lower profile.
4. I plan to pay more attention to detail and make it look even more like the actual vehicle.
5. It had to have fewer road wheels than a Tiger or Panther. What a pain those were.
6. I wanted to have discreet turret control. That is, I wanted to be able to nudget the turret in a defined increment.

I decided on the T-72. My plan is to build it at 2/15 scale. That will fit it in the R/C Tank Combat three foot rule. Because the T-72 has such a low profile, it will be a challenge to fit everything in the tank. I started with the turret because I suspect it will be the most difficult sub-system.
