Lariat Software Inc. is pleased to introduce Lariat: On the Air, a streaming media environment aimed at demonstrating the possibilities of Web broadcasting and building online community. In the rapidly evolving world of the Internet, the mission of Lariat: On the Air is to advance awareness and understanding, foster industry growth, and encourage the adoption of streaming media technologies and content by businesses, educational and arts organizations, and consumers.

Three Channels

Lariat: On the Air broadcasts over the World Wide Web through three channels offering different types of content:

  • Channel 1, The Commissary:  News and information about the streaming media industry — advice on media delivery solutions and applications, product demos, and case studies. From time to time, this channel will also feature speeches and presentations by industry leaders.

  • Channel 2, The Studio:  A diverse selection of music, sound, and video content showcasing the latest in innovative audio streaming.

  • Channel 3, The Community Canteen:  Content created by non-profit, educational, civic, and special user groups, demonstrating how small organizations can use the power of streaming media to build community by broadcasting events and activities on the Web.

Lariat Station Manager™

Lariat: On the Air also serves as a showcase for Station Manager™, Lariat Software's new media management product. Station Manager is a set of software tools that enables you to organize, schedule, deliver, and control original audio and video content — tasks similar to those of a program manager for a radio or TV station. Station Manager is being used to manage and deliver all Lariat: On the Air broadcasts and generate a program guide for audiences.

Keeping in Step

Dedicated to providing up-to-date information and exciting material, Lariat: On the Air is continually seeking new content for the site. We welcome feedback and submissions for broadcasts as we develop Lariat: On the Air into a public Web broadcast network.
