Combined '98 HSTA Oregon Camp-in

and

SabMag NW - Columbia River Gorge Event

Cascade Locks, Oregon

August 14 - 16, 1998

Early last summer Pacific Northwest riders on the SabMag mailing list started talking about staging a SabMag event in the area. As I work with the Oregon HSTA director on the Oregon Camp-In each August, I suggested that the SabMaggots join the HSTAers in Cascade Locks. So that's what we did. We had a total of 26 people attending, with nine riding SabMags.

The motley crueOn Saturday morning we all rode west through the Gorge falls area. Here's a shot of the combined group at Crown Point.
Multnomah FallsBefore getting to Crown Point we stopped at 300+ foot high Multnomah Falls, the most impressive in the area. A few years ago a landslide closed the upper bridge, right at the base of the falls. But it recently reopened, and this picture was taken from the bridge.
