| New Home Charleston and WCBD News 2 have partnered to present a Hurricane Expo in August ofr 2006 & 2008. The event were held at the Gaillard Auditorium, in downtown Charleston, SC, as part of the Custom Home & Remodel Show. | |
| The all-day expo was to inform Charleston area citizens on how they can protect themselves before, during and after a hurricane. WCBD News 2 Chief Meteorologist Rob Fowler broadcast his weather live from the Expo. | |
| Berkeley County South Carolina ARES operated a VHF/UHF Amateur Radio station using battery power from the EXPO. | |
| Numerous local, state and federal agencies and organizations participated. | |
| The Expo was a great opportunity for the public to experience Amateur Radio and it's capabilities in times of disaster. | |
