Concert Band Adjudication Festival at Whitman Hanson Regional High
School March 24th
Please
note change of location.
Due
to the large number of schools interested in the Concert Band Adjudication
Festival, it was move to a larger facility at Whitman-Hanson regional High
School.
East
Bridgewater is performing from 6:30 to 7:00
The Carnival is off this year
Rockwell
Amusements has decided not to return this year for the East Bridgewater Music
Parents Carnival
We
approached a second group to do it, and after reviewing the site, they declined
as well.
At
this late date, it will not be possible to find a replacement, and the carnival
will not be held.
We
are currently working on some replacement Fund Raising Opportunities

POPs Concert Friday April 2nd at 7:00PM – Sunday
April 4th at 2:00 PM
The
POPs concert is unlike the regular in school concerts held during the holidays
and the spring in two very significant ways.
First,
this concert is specifically designed as a fundraiser. Music Students from the
middle school through high School Senior perform to raise money for the music
program.
Second,
this is an opportunity to a wide variety of musical groups and to see the
development of the musicians from Middle school through the High School.
For
Middle School Parents, it is an opportunity to see what is available in the
High School Music Programs.
Music Banquet Sunday May 9th at 4:00PM
The
East Bridgewater Music Banquet will be on Sunday May 9th at 4:00 PM
at the Bridgewater Veterans Club on RT 18 and RT 28
The Rhythmix perform the national anthem at the
Student/Faculty Basketball Game
The
select chorus, the Rhythmix performed the national anthem at the recent Student
Faculty basketball game
Jazz Band Performances.
The
High School and Middle School Jazz bands started their performing season with 2
shows at the middle school on Feb 13th for the Middle school
students.
The
High School Jazz band performed at the IAJE jazz festival on Cape Cod, and the
Berklee Jazz festival. The band played very well at both shows.
The
middle school will at the IAJE Jazz festival in Stoughton on May 13th.
Both
Jazz bands will be performing at the upcoming POPs concerts.
Great East Music Festivals
The
High School and Middle School Chorus and The High School and Middle School
concert bands will all be performing at the Great East Music Festival in May.
See schedule below for details.
Our
students will play for a panel of judges in the morning and spend the after
noon in eitherSix6 Flags or Canobie lake park in the afternoon.
All
of these groups will be performing at the POPs concert as well
Winter Guard International (WGI) St. Ann’s wins
Norristown Regional Finals
East
Bridgewater was not able to field a winter guard this year. So some of our
students are competing in Winter Guard International for:

St Ann’s of
Neponset
·
All Saints
of Weymouth
St.
Ann’s finished first in the WGI Norristown regional finals on March 20th
in Norristown PA.

Music Director Search Committee
The
superintendent of schools, Dr Strojny requested that the music parents provide
two members for the search committee for the new music director
We
used the following criteria for our selection of the Parents
·
Active member of the association for at least 2
years
·
Parent of a student in at least one in school
program and one after school program. The wider range of programs the better.
·
Parent who will have a student in the music
program at least next year.
·
Parent of a chorus member.
·
We wanted one person from the Executive board
and one person who is not on the executive board
The
selected representatives are Diane Sullivan and Donna Folloni. Thank you for
taking the time to do this.
Marching Band Sponsor Update
So
far, we have 11 marching Band Sponsors signed up, as well as a few smaller
donations.
The
students have been measured and the new uniforms will be arriving in August.
