Elizabeth's new novel, GIRL HELD IN HOME (2011), is out from New Rivers Press. A new paperback and eBook edition of Elizabeth's novel A FOUR-SIDED BED and a new eBook edition of her novella and stories CELEBRITIES IN DISGRACE have just been published by PFP/AJAR Contemporaries.
2012: Elizabeth is featured on Barely South Review . Elizabeth has fiction in two new anthologies: MEN UNDRESSED: WOMEN WRITERS ON MALE SEXUAL EXPERIENCE (Other Voices Press; DZANC BOOKS; forthcoming 2011) and NO NEAR EXIT: WRITERS SELECT THEIR FAVORITE WORK FROM POST ROAD MAGAZINE, from DZANC BOOKS.
TONYA & NANCY: THE ROCK OPERA: watch for news on new productions in 2012 here and at TONYA & NANCY: THE ROCK OPERA website. The show premiered in Boston in Jan/Feb of 2011. It was performed at the American Repertory Theater's OBERON THEATER in Harvard Square, directed by Janet Roston; produced by Paul T. Boghosian and Harborside Films. The show had a critically acclaimed Return Engagement at the Oberon, July 18-21.

New paperback and eBook editions of Elizabeth's first book, MY BODY TO YOU are forthcoming from University of Iowa Press, which first published MY BODY TO YOU in hardback as winner of the Iowa Short Fiction Prize (James Salter, judge).
Elizabeth's CELEBRITIES IN DISGRACE has been produced as a short film by Bravo Sierra Pictures. The film has played at film festivals around the country including at Hoboken International Film Festival (June, 2011) and in Vancouver at Columbia Gorge (August, 2011). The film premiered as an official selection at the Woods Hole Film Festival on Cape Cod in August 2010. Elizabeth co-wrote the screenplay, based on her novella. The film has drawn coverage from The Boston Herald and from WBUR radio, 90.9FM, in Boston (Boston's NPR).

WRITING CONFERENCES: Elizabeth will speak at THE MUSE AND THE MARKETPLACE conference in Boston in May, 2012 and at the Mystic Writers Conference in CT in March, 2013. She performed at Old Dominion University's Literary Festival in Fall. 2011 and has spoken twice at the Boston Globe's Media Matters conference.
Elizabeth is doing the libretto for a new classical opera. A performance of Act One of SEVEN RABBITS ON A POLE (libretto by Elizabeth; music by Pasquale Tassone), adapted from the play by John C. Picardi, took place at Longy School of Music in Cambridge MA at 3PM on June 11, directed by opera star Jane Struss.
2013:MYSTIC WRITERS' CONFERENCE (scheduled for March, 2013): Elizabeth will be among the featured writers at this new conference along with Suzanne Strempek Shea. Watch this site for updates.
Elizabeth won first prize in Boston's 2010 LITERARY DEATH MATCH , an international competitive reading series sponsored by Opium Magazine. Elizabeth was one of four invited writers to compete at the Enormous Room in Cambridge, where she was sponsored by Post Road magazine and won her LDM 'gold medal.'
A musical performance from TONYA & NANCY: THE ROCK OPERA was featured by the LA Playwright's Arena in its annual HOT NIGHT IN THE CITY showcase in May, 2010. The show also had a song showcase at Boston Cabaret. The rock opera premiered at the World Trade Center Auditorium in Portland, OR in 2008, directed by Don Horn; produced by Triangle Productions, libretto and concept by Elizabeth Searle; music by Michael Teoli; additional music by Abigail Al-Doory Cross. The show's initial Portland run was EXTENDED and the show was nominated for two audience-based Portland Area Music Awards: Best Original Musical and Best Original Song.
TONYA & NANCY: THE OPERA, Elizabeth's half hour chamber opera with music by Abigail Al-Doory Cross, had a new production in 2010. The theater/music group Mixed Precipitation previewed the show in January 2010 at the Minneapolis Arts Shanty project, 'on ice.' The full chamber opera was performed Feb. of 2010 in Minneapolis at Bedlam Theater and at Camp Bar Theater in St. Paul.
TONYA & NANCY: THE OPERA was chosen as one of the top three finalists in the OPERA VISTA 2007 competition; excerpts from the opera were performed by
