Christ's Peculiar People
       Holy Spirit Empowered
              Transforming Our World

1 Peter 2:9
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; so that you may proclaim the praises of God; who has called you out of darkness into God's marvelous light. (KJV)

"A Jihad of Faith" -- A great success!  We expected 20 - 25 attendees, and had over 60.

Attached to this email are photos of the event taken by Chaplain Skip, President of IFCMD. And speaking of IFCMD, we offer them a huge thank you for helping to make this event the success it was. Working in partnership, we see that there is real momentum for this type of event and look forward to our next screenings in Baltimore and around the state.

Other thanks goes to: GLCCB for giving us free ad space and sending in their blast email at just the right time; MOCC and MBFA members, whose leadership and members attended and volunteered at the event; and Bowie State's Eyes Wide Shut.

A large and heatfelt thinks to PIF Steering Committee member Rev. David Smith. David offered his church, ran the sound board and helped set-up. He and I even met the morning before, where he solved a potentially scary sound emergency.) Thanks also to David's partner and congregation members who volunteered for the event. Thank you to Rev. Larry Brumfield for his leadership and dedication. We are just beginning and with collaboration and partnership will move ahead, in faith, ensuring real "liberty and justice for all."

Mission

Core Values

We Are Special People

People are attracted to MCC because they meet kindred spirits and are honored and celebrated for who they are. Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals, Transgender folk, friends and family of LBGT people, inter-religious couples and more find MCC to be a comfortable home. But after a while, people forget how empowering it was to find MCC, and they want to pretend it's just another "welcoming" church that silently accepts Queer people. And yet, if we don't remember why we exist and reach out to others who need what we have found, how will they ever find the peace and joy MCC offered us? Let's not be afraid of our difference… it is our gift to the world, and the world still needs it very much.

We are special people with unique gifts. Let us boldly celebrate this truth. Amen.
