As a native German speaker I offer fast, culturally accurate, and cost effective translations of technical documentation for the computer industry. I specialize in the localization of software and the translation of related documentation, including software and on-line help, tutorials, manuals, and marketing collateral.
I received prior education and training in the publishing and translation fields in Germany. In addition, I hold a degree in Technical Communications from Northeastern University, Boston. As an accredited member of the American Translators Association (ATA), I have been working in the U.S. since 1991 localizing software and translating technical documents for IT companies.
Based in the Boston area, I have helped several computer companies
customize their products to the German market, such as Data General,
Interleaf, Dragon Systems, Pilot Software, and VistaSource. Current

Trained in technical writing, I evaluate the original English documents and point out potential problem areas. If no company specific glossary exists, I develop and maintain a glossary (usually with the help of CAT tools such as Trados translation memory) to ensure consistent use of terminology throughout the current and any future product translations.
For glossary development and the actual translation process, I use on-line and printed resources from Germany to ensure that the translated product reflects the latest technical and linguistic developments.
Finally, through careful editing and proofreading I polish the translation and eliminate any errors. Thus, you can be assured that the final product represents the uncompromising quality that your German customers have come to expect. The final product will be delivered in file format (transfer via e-mail, ftp download, or on CD-ROM/diskette) and/or hard copy – and always on time!
