Chapter

When he returned home to the penthouse, Sonny was greeted by the last person he wanted to see at that moment; Carly. "Sonny! I've been waiting for you!" "What are you doing here Carly?" Sonny asked in a weary voice. Just seeing her wore him out. "I've missed you, so much," Carly cried walking towards him. "Johnny!" Sonny bellowed. "Oh no, not again," Carly thought. "Yeah boss?" Johnny asked after rushing in. "Get a locksmith here first thing tomorrow. Change the locks." Johnny tried to avoid even looking at Carly as he replied, "yes sir," and backed out of the apartment. "Sonny, don't do this. I know you're angry and I don't blame you. I did a stupid thing, a really stupid thing. But I love you, and I know you still love me." Sonny glared at her, "if what you feel for me is love, I don't want any part of it. I told you before, you're dead to me." "But I'm still your wife!" Carly exclaimed. Sonny shook his head, "not anymore you're not. I just divorced you." Carly froze in shock and whispered, "what?" "Yup, Alexis and I went down to the Dominican Republic and obtained a divorce. It's legal and binding. Don't worry you and Michael will be provided for, you'll never want for anything." "Oh I see, Alexis did this! She convinced you to divorce me! Sonny don't you see she's using you? She just wants you for herself!" Sonny smiled, "she didn't convince me to do anything. I couldn't wait to be free of you. And as for her wanting me for herself, well...she might just get me someday. Your loss might be her gain, baby. We're through here." He walked to the door and held it open. Carly began sobbing hysterically, "no! I won't let you do this Sonny!" Sonny rolled his eyes and looked at Johnny, who immediately started walking towards Carly. "All right, all right!" she yelled, her tears turning off as quickly as they started. "I'm leaving! To hell with you Sonny Corinthos. Some day you're going to realize what you threw away and come begging for me. Then we'll see how you like it." She stormed out. Sonny looked at Johnny, and laughed.
A short while later, Alexis came home and immediately went to see Sonny. "Is he in Johnny?" "Sure," Johnny replied, knocking on the door. "Come in!" Sonny yelled. "Hi," Alexis greeted him, walking over to join him on the couch where he sat with his glass of scotch. "Hey. How'd your meeting go with Jax?" "It went really well. Sonny, there's so much I have to tell you, and a favor I have to ask."
"So your sister went looking for you, and found Angel, who just happened to be sleeping with Jax, who had gone to look for Brenda. Did I get that right?" Alexis laughed; she was so happy from seeing Kristina again she'd been on the verge of laughter ever since. "That's right Sonny." Sonny reserved the comments about Jax that were on the tip of his tongue and instead responded, "that's wonderful. I'm so happy for you. You deserve to be happy Alexis." "Thank you." "So what's the favor?" "Well, Helena is up to something new. I don't exactly know what, but she's trying to get Nicholas to be on her side and I think it's working. Now that I've found my sister again, I want to make sure she's safe. Helena can't know about her, but more than that I would really appreciate if you could have someone watch her, at least until this is all resolved." Sonny looked into her eyes and realized he would do anything for her. "I'll put Max on it right away. Where is she?" "She's at Angel's house, on Loon Lake." Sonny sighed, "yeah, I know it." "You do? You know Angel?" "We've met. Just so you know, she's Sorel's daughter." "What?" Alexis exclaimed standing up. "Oh my God, I have to get her out of there!" "Don't worry," Sonny stood as well, "she's harmless. But if it'll make you feel better, I'll have Max take her to a safehouse." "That would make me feel better Sonny, thank you." "Consider it done." Alexis leaned over and kissed him lightly on the cheek. "You're the best friend I've ever had Sonny. I'm sorry for all the lousy things I've said to you in the past." Sonny smiled, flashing his dimples, "forget it Alexis. But, don't let it happen again."
An hour later Max arrived at Loon Lake. Angel recognized him right away. "Did Sonny send you for me?" she asked hopefully. Max played dumb, "is your name Kristina?" "No, that would be me," a young redhead walking towards him responded. "I've been sent by your sister to take you somewhere safe," he informed her. "The hell you will!" a male voice boomed out behind him. Jax had come in, heard his statement, and immediately tried to grab Max's arm and bend it behind his back. Unfortunately for him, Max was a professional, and flipped him over his shoulder and onto the floor, where he proceeded to hold him down with his foot on Jax's throat. He pulled out his gun with one hand, pointed it at Jax's head, then pulled out his cell phone with the other and hit the speed dial for the boss with his thumb. "It's Max. I'm here, but some big dumb blonde guy tried to take me down. Should I cap him?" On the other end of the phone, Sonny started laughing his head off. He knew Max knew exactly who the dumb blonde was and that he was playing with him. "Sir?" Max said, waiting for Sonny to calm down. "Oh man, I needed that Max. Why don't you make like I'm telling you to shoot him in the balls? That should be funny." Max stifled a smile and moved the gun down so it pointed at Jax's crotch. "Are you sure sir? That's awfully cruel." "No!" Jax and Angel both yelled in unison. If Sonny was as through with her as he said, Angel didn't want her only other hope of getting laid to be permanently ruined. She and Jax had been lovers in Europe, and while he surely was no Sonny, he at least got the job done. "Max, please don't hurt him," Kristina pleaded. "Uh sir, Ms. Davis' sister is here. Should I proceed?" Sonny finally got serious, "yeah. Tie that yahoo up, then take Kristina where we discussed. Call me when she's there." "Yes sir." Max replied, hanging up. He looked down at Jax, who was lying petrified on the floor. "Turn over!" Jax did as told, figuring at least the family jewels would be protected if he was laying on them. Max put his phone and gun away and pulled a large zip tie from his pocket, which he used to fasten Jax's hands behind his back. "Don't untie him until we're long gone lady," he warned Angel, who nodded her head in agreement. "Let's go ma'am," he then told Kristina, who grabbed her suitcase and followed him out the door.
