He married twice. He married Martha MACKEY. Martha was born in Ireland? about 1760. He married Jannette 'Jane' PRESTON in Virginia, November 1, 1778. Jannette was born in Walnut Grove, Washington Co. VA 1758. Jannette died November 1, 1800 in Sullivan Co., TN, at 42 years of age. Her body was interred in Weaver Cem., Weaver Pike, Sullivan Co. TN.

He married Catherine 'Kitty' MYERS 1806. Catherine was born in Berkeley Co. VA July 28, 1788. Catherine died February 25, 1860 in Sullivan Co., TN, at 71 years of age. 193 iii. Robert Preston RHEA was born in Bluff City, Sullivan Co. TN June 28, 1791. Robert died March 31, 1872 in Sullivan Co., TN, at 80 years of age. His body was interred in Pleasant Grove Cem.. He married Nancy DAVIDSON 1828. Nancy was born in Kentucy March 3, 1801. Nancy died October 9, 1875 in Sullivan Co., TN, at 74 years of age. Her body was interred in Pleasant Grove Cem..

194 iv. Matthew RHEA V. was born in Sullivan Co., TN February 23, 1796. Matthew died April 7, 1870 in Somerville, Fayette Co., TN, at 74 years of age. He married Mary 'Polly' LOONEY in TN, December 13, 1818. Mary was born in Sullivan Co., TN June 10, 1804. Mary died November 11, 1884 in TN, at 80 years of age.
