When Sigurd Olson went on a canoe trip he would bring along scraps of paper on which he had copied bits of poetry and philosophy. He would gather these scraps into what he called his "medicine kit" and while paddling pull one out, lay it on the pack in front of him and slowly read it and reflect on its meaning. In that spirit, watch this space for frequent updates of a periodic "Wilderness Reflection."
You will find something greater in the woods than in books.Trees and stones will teach you that which you can never learn from masters.
-- St. Bernard of Clairvaux
