Pierre Henry in collaboration

As musique concrete became more established, composers using traditional means began to incorporate concrete music into their scores. Henry occasionally worked in collaboration with others producing the tape component of a recording consisting of musique concrete and other means.

• Mariage de la feuille et du cliche by Darius Milhaud with musique concrete by Pierre Henry (France LP, Vega DR 30 S 1) fantastic package; the work was a collaboration between Milhaud, Henry, and visual artist Max Gerard; gatefold cover with elaborate package containing 1LP in book-like package, with statements from Draeger Freres (the printer) and Milhaud, the text of the piece and photos of Milhaud, Henry, and Gerard. Also included are two inserts on embossed paper with French text from Draeger Freres and a small card mentioning Draeger Freres.¹
• Paul Sarisson Présente Deux Textes Inédits de Claude Pascal (France, Discolivre 33 LD 111/222) Henry provides musical component for spoken text.⁶
• Los Grandes Temas de la Musica vol. 60 (Spain LP, Philips 68 51 259, 1982) red labels; realizations by Henry of works by Kagel (Transition 1) in collaboration with ORTF & WDR, Berio (Momente) in collaboration with RAI studios and ORTF, Xenakis (Orient Occident) in collaboration with ORTF and WDR.² There is a disucssion of these recordings on the compilation database.

• Les Tribulations d'un chinois en Chine by Jules Vernes. (France LP, Festival FLDZ 196) Collection le Disque d'Aventure. Une histoire de Jules Vernes raconté par Guy Pierauld, Jean Carmet, Roger Carel, Jean Rochefort, etc... Adaptation phonographique et réalisation de Pierre Henry.²⁵
• Koumra - Conte Africain (France 17.5cm, 33rpm, Clartes CLA 1027) Pierre Henry: "direction artistique." A conscious French spoken tale for children to learn about hunger. 1960s?²⁵
• Traité des Objects Musicaux (France 3x30cm, O.R.T.F.SR2, 1967 as indicated by the CD reissue) A three record set of musical examples and speech that serves to illustrate Pierre Schaeffer's text of the same title. Contains 282 short musical examples some of which are by Pierre Henry. Cover image.³⁰ The image is of the booklet that accompanied the records.²²
• Le Petit Train (France 7", Unidisc ex 33259) children's story by Pierre Jolly read by Vincent Hury. Music by Pierre Henry. Gatefold cover with an illustrated booklet including the complete story text.²⁵
