The Richmond Area Bottle Collectors Association
RABCA is an active club of bottle enthusiasts that has been meeting monthly since 1970, just changed to the Dale Ruritan Club building, off of Rt. 10 just south of Chippenham Parkway (see map below). We meet on the 2nd Wednesday of February, April, May, September and November. The June meeting is a picnic, and we have a dinner in December. We have a program at each meeting, a raffle for bottles, and members bring in recent acquisitions for Show & Tell. Of course, there is always a lot of great discussions about bottles. Visitors are always welcome. Bruce Wadford is the club president, Tony Townsend is the VP, Marvin Croker is secretary / treasurer, and the co-show chairmen are Marvin and myself. Bart Bradshaw is the newsletter editor. Click here to email me or call 804-739-2951 if you want more details about our meetings or activities.
Change: The meeting scheduled for Feb. 10 has been moved to Feb. 17 due to the weather.

One of our club associates is Reggie Lynch who has a great web site for information on bottles. Visit antiquebottles.com to learn a lot about this hobby. A member with a good bottle web site is Rick (Meech) Burchfield. If you are in North Carolina you might want to check the Raleigh club site. Our club is also a member of The Federation of Historical Bottle Collectors (FOHBC), and their web site is also a good place to learn about bottles and perhaps a club or bottle show near to where you live.
The first Saturday in October is always our annual bottle show. We just had our at a new location, the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds. It was a great success and our next show will be there on Oct. 2, 2010, and is a great place to see bottles of all types being sold by dealers from all up and down the east coast. Plan now to attend next year. The basic information is on the flyer to the left. It is great fun with lots of bottles and go-withs.
