| Description: Osmunda
cinnamomea grows 2-5 feet tall. It has light green leaves which are
broadly oval to oblong on long smooth stems. In spring, it has stems
covered with cinnamon colored hairs which then turn green in summer.
The spore stalk is connamon colored and rises out of the center of the
leaf cluster. |
| Discussion: Cinnamon ferns
like moist, shady areas, especially along swamp edges. Cinnamon ferns
spread slowly. |
| Distribution:The plant is usually
found in acid and damp areas. Range from Minnesota to Florida. |
