Carolyn and I are teaching everyday to the children here at Sparrow Village. We are trying to get the children more interested in school and working hard at it. We had a math multiplication facts contest with students practicing their facts every day for weeks. Only 30 students in grades 4 - 9 competed but many had studied their facts and then became too shy to compete. The overall winner was a 9th grade girl who had 95 of 100 correct. We were pleased with the results and now other students are asking when we will repeat the contest.

I was teaching 3 days a week at Unified Primary School which I walked to each day, but with the daily tutoring here at Sparrow, I had no time to work on the garden project that we have started. We hope to get a compost building program and organic gardening program going here, and I am really the only worker at this point. But we are beginning to network with others in the area to get gardeners to come here and teach the children to grow vegetables and flowers. God is so present in the garden.
