WALP

A brief overview of the Washington Association
Founded in 1984 by a trailblazing group of landscape professionals seeking to define professionalism, develop educational programs and initiate and expand legislative representation on the issues pertinent to the landscape industry, The Washington Association of Landscape Professionals (WALP) is a membership trade organization consisting of professionals in the landscape, irrigation, and maintenance industries serving the Pacific Northwest.

Eileen Morris is the owner and manager of Secret Gardens Landscaping. Her passion for fine gardening is rooted in her family upbringing. Eileen's was raised in West Seattle near Lincoln Park. Her mother and father maintained a large landscaped yard with a backyard vegetable garden, including fruit trees. She learned to love rose gardening from her mother's green thumb.

In 1982 Eileen began working in the horticulture business at Molbak's Nursery in Woodinville. After learning to propagate poinsettias, she managed the hanging basket business. Eileen developed customer relationship skills and artistic plantings.

Around 1989 Eileen began a business partnership called Secret Gardens. At the same time she began studying Landscape Design at Edmonds Community College. She learned about design, maintenance, horticulture, and small business management. Eileen graduated in 1992 with an Associates degree in Landscape Design.

Today Secret Gardens Landscaping operates as a corporation and provides services for home owners, condominiums, and business offices. Customers are located in Seattle, Mercer Island, Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond, and Woodinville.  Customer references are available on request.
