The Music & Arts Ministry was created to bring about more ways for our youth to enhance their Elam experience through various aspects of music and the arts.
Programs include dance, art, drama, a/v production, and instrumental and vocal musical groups.

	KIC Children Angela DeMarro This includes the three groups for young children: Joyful Noise Singers for 4 year olds through 2nd graders Singers of Glory for 3rd through 5th graders Young Dancers - a new dance group for 2nd - 5th graders	Meets Sunday at 7:00 in the Music Room
	KIC Fellowship through Music Angela and Vince DeMarro The purpose of this group is to share praise music, fellowship, and worship God in a relaxed setting. The FTM group is open to all youth in grades 6-12, and college-age adults. Music selection would be a collective effort between the leader and all participants, and the selections would lift the spirit in a Christian context. Because of its informal setting, this group will value individuality and creativity over caliber.	Meets first Sunday each month at 6:00 pm in the Music Room
	KIC Chorus Steve Roushey The core group of KIC vocal talents and a requirement for KIC Chorale. The purpose of this group is to enjoy and deliver a variety of music, with an emphasis on popular Christian music. The musical selections would be ultimately chosen by the chorus director, but input from the chorus members will be a part of the process. The quality of the musical expression should be such that the congregation can be inspired by the collective spirit of the group. Commitment to rehearsals is strongly suggested.	Meets three Sundays each month at 6:00 in the Music Room
	KIC Chorale Steve Roushey This group would be open to older members of the chorus who have a passion and willingness for singing all genres of music in a Christian context. The purpose of this group is to inspire others through musical expression and delivery. Attention to tone, diction, projection and articulation will be a part of each rehearsal. The leader and director will choose the music. Commitment to rehearsal is required.
	KIC Instrumental Ensemble Steve Roushey & Ginny Lockwood This opportunity may include several ensembles which will support the youth music ministry program. This group will be geared to youth who play at an intermediate level or higher and wish to participate in music within the church through the playing of instruments in small groups. Ensembles will be formed based on ability level. The music selection will be chosen in an effort to enhance the worship service.	Meets every other Sunday each month at 11:00 am in the Music Room.
	KIC Praise Band Steve Roushey This group would consist of high school youth and adults with a strong interest in praise band, contemporary and popular Christian music and advanced musical ability. Membership would be based on musical ability and needed instrumentation. Presentations may include such opportunities as youth events, special music or accompanying a choir. The music selection will be made by both the leader and the band membership with the leader having the final decision.
	KIC Instrumental Special Music Steve Roushey This group will provide an opportunity for youth who have a strong interest in music and want to grow and share their music talent beyond the KIC Music and Arts Ministry. The purpose of this group is to both provide an opportunity for exceptionally talented youth to express their instrumental gifts as well as minister to the congregation. The quality of musical expression will be high. The music selection will be chosen to enhance the worship service.
	KIC Drama Ginny Lockwood This group would be for youth who are interested in acting and public speaking. This group will focus on providing entertainment and inspiration by reciting scripture or special readings and performing dramatic experiences and plays. Must be willing to take risks and work on being confident in front of an audience. This group is dependent on other members of the group so attendance and commitment are a must!	Meets every other Sunday each month at 11:00 am in the Music Room.
	KIC Visual Arts Judith Palmer For those youth with a talent and passion for visual arts such as painting, drawing, or photography whose talents can be showcased on its own or used as a support for other KIC groups. Art may be needed for theatre productions, musical presentations, dance exhibitions, or special worship services. The group will be involved in painting murals for the Sunday School classrooms. An exhibition of artwork will take place in the spring.	Meets once a month.
	KIC Dance Darlene Boose and Meredith Cheney This opportunity is open to youth who choose to express themselves in liturgical dance. The group of dancers may be able to do individual pieces or complement a choral group.	Meets as needed for performances. Times and locations TBA.
	KIC AV Rodger Stahl This outlet is to encourage participation of those youth who have an interest and an expertise in the technological needs of a music and arts group or its production. Sound, lighting, and video filming are just a few of the areas to be explored.	Meets once a month.
