The Theatre
![]()

The theatre resides in the basement. Come on in...
The screen is 96"x60" (4:3 permanent) covered with screen material and has a gain of 1.3. As of this photo, the traverse rod is in place, but the curtains are a work in progress by my lovely wife and our neighbor. Once they are finished, I will update the picture.

The marquee boxes were built by me from a design discussed on the AVS forums.
The breaker panel is covered by a door painted the wall color, allowing it to disappear.
Here is a picture of the back of the theater and the new theater seats. The seats have foot rests and recline.

Here are a few pictures I have collected for the theater. These range from the Harry Potter cast
to Kate in Underworld. Mainly my family's favorite actors.
While hard to see in the dimness of the theater, here is the rack that holds the receiver,
switcher, DVD player, and the image processor.

A screen shot of a movie being shown in the theater.

Here is a side and front view of the NEC projector I am using in the theater. Hard to beat the image color
of a NEC CRT projector.

Finally, this is a quick shot of the homemade subwoofer I built for the theater. The
driver is a 12" titanium cone speaker driven by 180 Watts and tuned to about 42Hz.
This speaker has a very large Vas, hence the four ports required. It was actually the
second design, the first was down-firing and shown in the Construction Pictures.
