Doylestown, Ohio

These photographs, with a few exceptions, were taken from a photo album owned by Joseph (1843-1923) and Catherine (RILEY) MARSHALL (1843-1924). Catherine and Joseph lived on Cleveland Street in Doylestown, Ohio. Joseph was the grandson of Peter and Catherine (FELIX) MARSHALL who had settled in the Doylestown area in 1827 and of Christian and Mary (ROYER) SHONDEL who had emigrated from the Alsace region of France in the 1830's. Many of these photographs are of unidentified people, presumably friends and relatives. Among Joseph's relatives and in-laws are members of the MARSHALL, DAGENHART, WHITMAN, HUMMEL, OTT, RECH, GARDNER, PETIT, SHONDEL, STEINMETZ, WILGOHS, KINDIG, families.
