How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!"    Romans 10:14-15

Welcome.

Born and raised in the Philippines, Angie Velasco came to know the Lord through the campus ministry of The Navigators.  For 10 years during  high school and college she learned how to grow in her faith, share the gospel using the Bridge Illustration, and disciple women -- teaching them how to grow in their walk with the Lord.

As a Registered Nurse by profession, Angie started working in different hospitals in the Chicagoland area.  Many years of her nursing career were spent in the Coronary Care Unit and the Intensive Care Unit. While in Chicago she was involved for 10 years with the Chicago International Evangelical Free Church whose primary ministry is sharing the gospel with foreign students that attend the University of Illinois.  Angie had many cross cultural experiences while working full time as a registered nurse and was fully involved in cross cultural missions with her church in Chicago.

In 2002 she completed her Masters in Business Administration degree and decided to leave nursing to begin a marketing career.  That year she moved to Vancouver, Washington; while there she started attending Crossroads Community Church. She went on two missions trips to Mexico and in 2003 felt called to serve God full time in missions.   In January 2004, Crossroads commissioned her as a missionary to Mexico.

Angie is using her gifts of evangelism, teaching, hospitality, and leadership in different ministries in Mexico.  She helps organize evangelistic events, teaches discipleship Bible studies to new believers, often hosts meals in her own home,  and welcomes new people in her local church (Semilla de Mostaza- Cuernavaca). Angie also leads small group Bible studies for women who have been Christians for a while but continue to desire to know God in a more personal way.

It is exciting to see how God moved Angie’s life from the Philippines, to Chicago, to Vancouver, to Hermosillo, Mexico and now to Cuernavaca, Mexico.  In all these changes Angie has seen how faithful God is and how He uses all life situations for His glory.
