Jennifer Greenberg Takes Second Heat Race Victory of the 2005 Season
ALBUQUERQUE, NM - Jennifer Greenberg took her second heat race victory out of 5 starts in the Mini Sprint competition at Sandia Motor Speedway on Saturday night. She and Andres Batista put on a great show as they battled wheel-to wheel for well over half the race. Greenberg took a close win, crossing the finish line only 1 car length in front of Batista.
In the 25 lap main event, Greenberg's car was a bit off the pace due to handling problems. The 10 car field seemed to have trouble getting the race going as two cars crashed on the warmup lap and another crashed on the initial start. Greenberg ran a steady race to finish in the 4th position.
After the race Greenberg said, "The car was handling good, but not great when we won the heat. We made some changes to the setup for the main, but the track seemed to change more than we expected. The car had a big push that made it very difficult to pick up the throttle on the exit of the turns. Every time we put the car on the track we add to our database of knowledge and improve our ability to make the car faster under a wide variety of circumstances. We are really looking forward to the last few races of the season."
Greenberg's next event is the Mini Sprint race at Sandia Motor Speedway on Sept. 10. She will continue to represent marketing partners Amsoil, Cabinet Concepts, SunCo Equipment and Supply and M&J Signs.
