Third Heat Race Win in 2005 For Jennifer Greenberg

ALBUQUERQUE, NM - Rookie driver Jennifer Greenberg heat race win average is now 50% as she took her 3rd heat race win out of six 2005 starts. Greenberg moved quickly into the lead from the 3rd starting position and took a 12 car length victory. At the start of the 25 lap main event, Greenberg slotted into 4th place. Her car's handling was loose, so she patiently waited to see if the track conditions would change in her favor. By lap 10 the car was handling better but the brakes were beginning to fade. Greenberg hung on to 4th until the brakes totally failed with 5 laps to go. Her lap times fell off by nearly 2 seconds and she lost two positions to finish 6th.

In a post-race debrief Greenberg said, "After our great heat race run I had very high expectations for the main. Unfortunately we lost the brakes just as the track was coming to us. That is the most concerned I have been since we started racing this car. I would rather back off a bit and lose a couple of positions than try to make the car go fast with no brakes and likely crash."

Greenberg's next event is the Mini Sprint race at Sandia Motor Speedway on Sept. 24. She will continue to represent marketing partners Amsoil, Cabinet Concepts, SunCo Equipment and Supply and M&J Signs.
