Featured Project: Arts and Crafts Drafting Table (continued) (Fourth progress report) All 56 tenons for the mortises have been cut. The photos below show the joinery details and the dry fit of the base parts. Next the mechanical components will be made and fitted. Then all these parts will be sanded and glued. These photos show some of the joinery. The top photo shows the rear vertical component intersecting the airfoil leg. The lower photo shows a through tenon and blind tenon joint at the top front of the base. Dry fit of frame components. Front slats ready for fitting Dry fit of complete base Threaded glides can be used to level the table if required. When fully retracted, they are concealed within the leg. I put a small hole at the edge of the glide to facilitate rotating if required with a 90° bent wire. |
